Mate,

Its best to stick to 2.25 inch pipe, a big centre resonator (should be bigger than original) and a good rear muffler (devil, remus)

The best bet with custom systems would be to go for a slightly larger dimension than the original system. In this way, the back pressure can be reduced and you can get a bit more power and torque with this setup.

What you guys think about this?

it´s a sensate choice, Max...2.25 pipe is the original size of my ZX, I take the 2.5 because a friend was selling to me ^^

the noise of the exhaust is exciting at this moment, but one hour I think it will be boring. in this case I will change the rear muffler to the an original one of the another car with big engine...

and here are the graphics :D

the original:

exhaust + conic air filter:

comparative:

the original setup was: low octane gasoline, dirty and old air filter with the original air box, original exhaust...

the exhaust + conic air filter setup is: exhaust and conic air filter  (full 2.5 inches exhaust with 03 high flow mufflers), reconditioned head (the head gasket was changed because overheating  ), high octane gasoline...

humm...and that´s it 8)

hi Dugy, I am looking forward for the wheel arches. I guess I only will find in authorized Citroen dealer, but the price is a joke (160 US dollars) :(

I am looking forward to convert the car to use ethanol, it´s a common fuel here and the price is very attractive (ethanol costs 0,50 US dollars. normal gasoline costs 1,25 US dollars). but is hard to find a good person to chip the ECU :S

humm, let´s go for some news from my ZX:

- the ethanol conversion project was abandoned, it´s a bit complicated to make a decent conversion and reprogramming the ECU...

- the 2.5 inches exhaust was changed to 2.0 inches exhaust with two mufflers in the middle and a silencer in the end. the torque in the low revs is better and the sound is much quieter compared with the old setup, I was tired with the louder exhaust. in reality the 2,5 exhaust was changed because it´s broke

- some pics:

after

yeah, I put the wheel arches! now the appearence is much better, a real ZX 16V!

and maybe one more exhaust mod  :

hey pals, what do you think in these rim in the ZX?

Image

it's a Rota Attack, I am thinking in this size: 15 x 6.5 +18 4h x 108.

it combines with a ZX?
