Too bad the paint isn't very good, but the shell itselfs seems pretty good. Looks like it is lowered too?!

no major plans for this car. Wish to bring it back to pristine stock condition.

unsure if its lowered but believe it should still be on stock suspension etc. My previous 8v pretty much similar height as well

couple of things on my mind now to restore...

To date, changes/replacement made:
- replaced 1 faulty ACAV
- replaced alternator, belt, battery & condenser
- replaced gear knob

Comfort/Feel good phase
- upgrade to bigger brakes (ie gti-6 brakes)
- redo & replace undercarriage items (ie lower arms, bushes, ball joints, suspension, rear axle)
- replace "bubbled" dashboard (common in all zx-es in Msia) due to hot weather. Exception, dashboard with red lining are not prone to this issue...curious on the quality difference frown
- replace cable speedometer with "electronic" meter. Current cable type meter, the needles do judder or works like vibration movement
- relook into wiring & fix where faulty
- consider split fire ignition coils (any feedback on this???). found it http://www.europerformance.co.uk/pages/ ... ct=3672257

Aesthetic phase
- new 16"/17" rims (Gotta import and Msia rather limited choices of perfect fit rims. prefer not to use spacer)
- projector lamps???
- sebring oval tip backbox or back to ori (currently on sebring round tip backbox)
- new coat of paint

Guess that's what i have in mind currently. How soon can it starts largely dependent on budget available

The RFY engine doesn't have sparkplug leads, but it has the ignition coil right on top of the sparkplug.

yup...d 4 ignition coils, which are prone to failure. hence looking if any better alternatives.

when i search for performance parts, tot these splitfire coils are meant to replace to stock coils. No?

pardon my lack of knowledge as tot if listed under zx 16v parts, it can be used

Their info is incorrect.
You will need:
-sparkplug leads
-dis ignition coil
-after market ECU

The original ECU has full sequential injection en ignition, therefor it can not be adepted to be used with the more simple DIS ignition.

I don't think the ignition coils are really that bad, I have driven 8 16V's. Bought up mostly terrible treated ones and only had three coil failures.
Heat is their weak spot, so in your country they may be less reliable. Modify the cover over the coils is the option I would choose rather than changing the ignition setup.

Some updates on my car.

Comfort/Feel good phase
- replace "bubbled" dashboard :)

Unable to find gti-6 brakes in Msia so decided to stick back to original setup. Have bought all necessary items. Will be replacing ori front brake disc, new pads & new hose. Also plan to powdercoat the calipers to glossy yellow :)

Wanted to achieve above look :)

Looks good wink Maybe you can find Gti-6 brakes on Ebay?

Post subject:  Re: Devil white ZX...Msia

most of the ebay sellers (gti-6 brakes) unwilling to ship to Malaysia.

Anyway, have done couple of things to car.
- brake disc & brake hose changed
- speedometer changed to sensor type. just a minor modification needs to be done since current speedo is cable type. Now i do not have to worry about broken speedo cable. Works like a charm & the needle movement is so much more refined :)

Soon to accomplish:
- powder coat brake calipers & service calipers (changing oil seals etc)
- timing belt kit
- tensioner rollers

Rims wise, i'm thinking of getting below. However, am worried if 17" is too big & will compromise the power & handling of car. What do you guys think? Should i opt for 16" or 17". Look wise definitely the 17" looks darn great ;)

205/45R16 is in my opinion the best choice for the ZX

Post subject:  Re: Devil white ZX...Msia

thx...so i heard as well. still 16" the next best size apart from original 15".

currently mine is 16" but on 195/55 i think. Would like to achieve a "fatter" & bigger look on the tyres.

in this case, very likely will settle for 16"
